Educational Consultants Tour Northwoods

Northwoods Sagle Farm

Northwoods realizes 100% student enrollment through educational consultant referrals. The following are quotes from Ethna Hopper and Linda Cain after their recent tour.

“It was just wonderful to see Northwoods last week, why have I never visited your program in all this time? I could kick myself. In the last three days I have talked about your program with everyone I know!”

“It was great to see you and Northwoods again. The new game and music rooms turned out wonderful. The wood-fired hot tub was the best one I have ever seen! Your program is so nurturing and self affirming. I can’t get over all the activities you can provide in meeting the boys interests and passions.”

Lacrosse at Northwoods

The spring 2007 lacrosse season was a total success! Although coaches David and John volunteer many hours for the team, they are already looking forward to next year’s season.“We just keep getting better. I enjoy seeing the boys improve their lacrosse skills, learn how to play as a team and have healthy fun” says David Brinkman.

A Spotlight on: Jill Hicks, LCPC-Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Jill and Northwoods student Jason at the Sagle Farm

"Therapy techniques that I think work best are, reality therapy, trauma work, love and logic approach, strength-based and systems oriented. I believe we meet the child and family where they are at and improve on strengths they have, look at weaknesses, and use therapeutic methods and wrap around the child and family with Northwoods staff. We set program goals to meet the child's needs to be successful within his community, school and at home."

Parents come to visit at Northwoods

Ed has been enrolled at Northwoods for close to a year and is scheduled to graduate with a high school diploma in December. Ed has a part time job working in a local Sandpoint restaurant. He currently is riding his bicycle to and from work, and is looking forward to the start of his driver’s education course. Recently Ed’s mother and grandmother came to visit him and stayed at the Sueno guest house at Northwoods, both were impressed with how much Ed has matured while at Northwoods.

“I was impressed with the level of activities and accountability provided to the boys at Northwoods and it seems that boys have a good relationship with the staff. It appears that you are good stewards of the tuition we pay, I am reassured that my son is in a good place." Kaye, Ed’s mother

“You do such wonderful work with your students and I hope all the parents and grandparents are as impressed and grateful as we were. You have done such a wonderful job with all the students in your care, keep it up and you will change the lives and futures of all.”
Shirley, Ed’s grandmother

Jason recently graduated from Northwoods with a Bonners Ferry High School diploma.
